The festive season is just as busy as the rest of the year for NSR but this year rain, rain and yet more rain meant it was an extremely wet one for the team. However, the weather did nothing to deter the crowds attending Christmas and New Year events in and around the capital.
Contracted by ADI Television for the third year running, NSR was once again the team brought in to transmit the carol concert from St Paul’s cathedral to Paternosta Square where thousands of people enjoyed the service and carols on large screens on three consecutive nights; 22nd to 24th December.
There was no time to rest though as very soon after the Christmas turkey was eaten the team were back out setting up for the New Year’s Day parade. So as usual clear heads were required on New Year’s Day as the NSR team were back in London to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Working alongside Destination Events NSR supplied 9 grandstand sites along the parade route from the Ritz to Parliament Square with PA as well as 10 commentary boxes, which included 3 double decker units for event control, commentary and press. In addition 120 radios were supplied covering 5 channels of radio that covered the whole route plus 10 generators to supply enough power for the event. Despite the rain an estimated ½ million people attended the parade.
The NSR team are now looking forward to a busy 2014 and wish all their customers a happy new year.
